Chinese Government Scholarship-Top-level Graduate Program is a full scholarship established by Ministry of Education to support Chinese universities to attract outstanding international students for graduate studies in China. Shenyang Jianzhu University is one of the prestigious universities designated to undertake this program to recruit graduate students for Master and Doctoral Programs.

INTRODUCTION

Shenyang Jianzhu University established in 1948, is the only comprehensive university with its priority given to Civil Engineering and Architecture as well as multi-disciplinary education overlapping among engineering science, industry, literature, administration, nature science, agronomy and law in Liaoning Province.

The university comprises 18 schools, offering 53 undergraduate programs, 32 master's programs, and 4 first-level doctoral degree programs in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Urban and Rural Planning. It also offers a professional doctoral degree program in Landscape Architecture and hosts 3 postdoctoral research stations in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Architecture. The university employs over 1,400 staff members, including 853 doctoral and master's supervisors, 235 professors, and 451 associate professors. The total full-time student enrollment is nearly 19,000, including 13,600 undergraduate students, over 5,900 doctoral and master's students, and more than 200 international students.

The university has a strong research profile, having received over 110 scientific awards, including the National Patent Excellence Award, the First Prize of China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Innovation Achievement Award, and the First Prize of Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. It has been ranked among the "Top 100 Chinese Universities for Patent Transfers," securing the top position among provincial universities in Liaoning. The campus is renowned for its beautiful environment and was awarded the "Model of Human Settlements Environment Award" by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China.

The university has established academic exchanges or collaborative research and educational partnerships with over 70 universities in more than 40 countries and regions. It has been designated by the Ministry of Education as a host institution for domestic visiting scholars and is among the first group of universities approved by the State Council to admit international students. It is also recognized as a recipient institution for the Chinese Government Scholarship for international students and the Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship for international doctoral students. Additionally, it serves as a high-level talent training base and a cadre education training base in Liaoning Province. The Information Management Master's Program, jointly offered with Benedictine University in the United States, is a flagship project of the base. Furthermore, the university has co-established a Confucius Institute with Transilvania University of Brașov in Romania.

Eligibility:

1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, and be in good health both mentally and physically.

2. Applicants must be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;

3. Applicants must be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs;

4. Language requirement:

4.1 HSK certificate (within 2 years) is required for the Chinese-taught program:

Master programs: HSK 4 180 or above for majors;

Doctor programs: HSK 5 180 or above.

4.2 English certification is required for the English-taught program:

Submit a TOEFL or IELTS transcript, in principle, the score must be 80 or higher, and the IELTS score must be 6.0 or higher;

Applicants that use English as the language of instruction at the last education background, submit the language certificate issued by the last education institutions instead.

Applicants from countries where English is the official language are exempt from proof of English language proficiency.

SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS

Full government scholarship covers the tuition fee, accomodation fee for domitory on campus and living allowance. Full government scholarship doesn’t cover application fee, accommodation deposit, visa fee and medical examination fee.

Note:

1) Costs of the laboratory experiment or internship beyond the institution’s arrangements should be self-afforded.

2) Monthly allowance is granted to the students through the host institution at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):

* Master Degree Students: 3,000 CNY/month

* Doctor Degree Students: 3,500 CNY/month

3) Comprehensive Medical Insurance.

4) Applicants are expected to pay for their own international travel expenses.

2. Application Documents

1) Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (in Chinese or English);

2) Copy of Passport Home Page. If the validity of the applicant’s current passport does not meet the requirement( The passport should be valid later than September 2026);

3). Notarized highest diploma.;

4). Academic transcripts;

5). Language qualification certificates. Applicants for Chinese-taught programs must submit valid HSK reports in accordance with the corresponding Chinese proficiency requirements. Applicants for other language-taught programs shall provide relevant language proficiency certificates according to the universities’ requirements, like IELTS or TOFEL report;

6). Pre-admission documents;

7). A study plan proposal;

8). Two recommendation letters;

9). Example of art;

10). Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the valid documents of their legal guardians in China;

11). A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English (the original copy shall be kept by the applicant).

12). Non-criminal record report.
